Bodyguard (BBC One, 9pm)
This new BBC drama has managed to get Theresa May talking, and apparently she’s not a fan. Based on the story of a fictional home secretary, it’s alread yin line for a second series, but Theresa May couldn’t manage to watch a full episode of the show. Tonight home secretary Julia Montague’s counter-terrorism bill draws closer to becoming law, while London is left reeling from recent attacks.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 (RTÉ 2, 6pm)
The seventh instalment of the Harry Potter series, which sees Harry, Ron and Hermione trying to uncover the secret to Voldemort’s immortality – the Horcruxes. Harry’s nemesis has hidden his soul in a number of different locations and it’s up to Harry and his pals to find and destroy them if they want Voldemort to become mortal. As they getting nearer to accomplishing their task, dark forces begin to throw them off course.
Mother’s Day (RTÉ One, 9.30pm)
Drama based on real events following the IRA’s 1993 bombing of Warrington, which left two young boys dead. A grieving family and a Dublin housewife form an unlikely alliance to bring about peace and heal communities on both sides of the Irish Sea. As grieving parents Wendy and Colin Parry search for answers to their son Tim’s senseless killing, they form an alliance with a Dublin housewife, her husband Arthur and the Peace ’93 movement.
Everybody’s talking about… The X Factor.
The show is quickly becoming a passionate hate-watch for many people, and although it featured some serious talent last night, people are more focused on how annoying they find Robbie Williams.
